Last year I was lucky enough to get the house of my dreams- 3 bedrooms, a huge backyard, and a fully remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances and cabinet re-facing, and 2 bathrooms- one of which looked more like an outhouse than a bathroom…that just wasn’t going to cut it.

My dream house was almost perfect…I needed to get that bathroom remodeled. Come with me on my journey through Salt Lake City Bathroom Remodeling.

Going Contractors Shopping

The first thing I decided to do was find a contractor. I knew that if I wanted the job done right I needed to get someone on the job that knew what they were doing, could get it done for a reasonable price and in a reasonable amount of time. I wanted my bathroom to be a spa…in less than a month! I did some digging online to find contractors in my area that would be willing to do the work for the price I had set. It took me a little extra digging, but I found the perfect man for the job. His promised services sounded exactly like what I wanted and needed. I found Homeshow Daily’s website to be a huge asset as they pre-screen all their contractors. This allowed me to choose from a pool of contractors that I knew was qualified.

Getting the Design Down

The next step in my Salt Lake City Bathroom Remodeling journey was the design period. This is the part I liked the most because I got to dream up what I wanted my bathroom to look like. I wanted custom marble countertops, tile in the shower, a separate jet tub, earthen toned tile on the floors, and a pedestal sink with adjacent shelving units to hold my towels and hygiene products- this bathroom was going to be heaven on earth!

I had so many design ideas I thought I would burst, but the contractor helped me narrow down my choices based on my budget.

Starting with a Clean Slate: Demolition Time!

Once I finished up designing the bathroom with my contractor/guide, it was time to do some demo. Needless to say this was his favorite part of the whole thing. It took less than a day to get the old bathroom “removed” in preparation for the new bathroom. I’d heard that when it came to bathroom renovation, the demo part was the hardest. Good- now it was over.

Creating My Spa

Now that the dirty demo work was over, I could sit back in my living room and listen to the men work steadily in the bathroom space. It took 2 weeks to get everything built, plumbed, wired and installed, but once it was all done…Shangri La! That contractor did such a good job that he guaranteed the bathroom wouldn’t need any sort of repair for at least a year.

Now, I have my in-home spa. I can honestly say that I probably have the greatest Salt Lake City Bathroom Remodeling job in the whole state of Utah. People of Wasatch, eat your hearts out!
